WOMEN'S COUNSELLING
Support for Life’s Challenges, Tailored for Women
At Anchoring Your Life Counselling, we understand the unique pressures many women face — balancing relationships, careers, family and personal wellbeing. Women’s counselling offers a safe, confidential space to explore what feels overwhelming, whether you’re experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, or simply feeling stuck or disconnected. Together, we work to make sense of your experiences, build self-understanding, and support meaningful, lasting change.
Whether you’re seeking women’s counselling in Redlands, Brisbane, or online, sessions are tailored to your individual needs and where you are in your life right now.
Debra combines training in evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) along with her training in Trauma. She integrates this with her lived experience to offer both structured support and genuine empathy. This unique blend supports women to manage anxiety, stress, depression, and emotional overwhelm, while also strengthening relationships, building confidence and self-worth, and reconnecting with themselves and others — creating meaningful and lasting change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about women’s counselling — so you know what to expect.
What issues can women’s counselling help with?
Women’s counselling can support you with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. It’s a safe space to explore what’s causing distress and begin healing.
How many sessions will I need before I see change?
It depends on your situation, goals, and how often you attend. Some people notice relief after a few sessions; others work over longer periods with regular appointments. Debra helps you set realistic goals and checks in on progress along the way.
What happens during a typical counselling session?
You’ll start by talking about what’s on your mind, what you hope to get from counselling, and your background. Debra uses evidence-based methods (like EFT) to guide discussion — you can expect listening, reflection, and small practical exercises or tools to try between sessions.
Is women’s counselling confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is respected. What you share stays between you and Debra, unless there’s a legal or safety concern (which Debra will explain at the start of your work together).
Can I have online sessions, or do I need to attend in person?
Yes, online counselling is an option. You can choose sessions via video if that works better for your schedule or location. They offer the same level of support and structure as in-person sessions.
What are the costs, and are there rebates available?
Costs depend on session length and frequency. Session fees can be viewed by clicking the “Book Now” button. You may be eligible for rebates through private health providers. Always check with your health fund and Debra’s office to understand what your policy covers.
What if I feel nervous about something in a counselling session?
That’s totally okay. Feeling safe and heard is key. Debra is very approachable, you can always speak to her about what's on your mind. Sometimes changing the approach, session frequency, or strategies can make a difference. The goal is finding what supports you best.
Do I need a referral from a doctor?
No. You can self-refer to women’s counselling with Debra. A referral from a GP isn’t required.
