   NDIS Counselling

             Face to Face & Online

Anchoring Your Life Counselling is a service provider for people who are accessing individualised therapy supports through the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) under the 'Improved Daily Living' category as a Plan Managed or Self Managed Participant.  We believe that counselling support for a person living with a disability is a very important component for greater well being.

Counselling can help you to:

Find relief from negative thoughts and feelings helping to minimise the impact of anxiety and depression in your life

Find new tools and techniques for coping with challenges to support the life you want to live

Improve your overall quality of life and achieve your goals

It is understandable that you may feel a little nervous about our first counselling session but you will be made to feel at ease from the minute we meet.  My aim is to ensure you feel comfortable and for you to know that whatever you need to share or however you need to feel that you are in a safe and non-judgemental place to do so.

Your first session will be a time for us to go through our privacy agreement, to get to know one another, to find out more about your concerns and what you are hoping to achieve from counselling sessions.  Depending on the time, I may start to introduce counselling strategies during this session.

The overall number of sessions you will need is different for everyone.

Each session is 50-60 minutes

Individual Counselling can take place Face to Face in Cleveland in the Redlands or it can take place Online through a secure platform called Zoom.

The benefits of online counselling clients have found are:

There is no travel time involved for you meaning less costs for fuel or child minding.

Less time spent away from family, taking time off work or on other appointments where you need to be physically present.

There are no limitations with travelling due to mobility, transport, distance or as a result of fear of leaving your home due to anxiety.

The safety and comfort of your own home often provides clients with the ability to lower defences and open up more quickly enabling healing to take place at a faster rate.
